A Version Attempting to Redefine the Function of Correction
Steel Frame, Mirror Glass, Satellite Topographic Map, Steel Cable, Metal Drift Can
300 × 150 cm

This work was situated in Wuhu, Anhui, a city along the Yangtze River. Inside the steel frame is an aged mirror, embedded with a prefabricated satellite aerial view of Wuhu’s Yangtze riverside. The mirror’s reflective function simultaneously projects the real scene of the surroundings and the images of the viewers within the frame, creating a mutual interplay between the artwork and its environment. A steel cable is fixed at the back of the frame, tightly pulling the metal drift can attached to the front of the frame and anchoring it downward to the buckle on the steel plate at the base, forming a state of taut tension. Engraved on the metal drift can is the text: “A Version Attempting to Redefine the Function of Correction”.
